Advisory Neighborhood Commission 7E Monthly Meeting

The monthly meeting for ANC 7E is scheduled for every second Tuesday of the month, 7:00 to 8:30pm at Jones Memorail Church at 4625 G St. SE.

Special Meeting on Proposed Senior Apartments and For-Sale Affordable Housing for 4700 Block of East Capitol St.

A date has been set for a public presentation by the developer of the Carver project slated for the 4700 block of East Capitol St. to the neighbors surrounding the proposed development.

Saturday, February 7th at 10:30 to 12:30pm at Capitol View Library

The DC Zoning Board Hearing is schedule for February 10th at 9:30am at the Zoning board offices located at 441 4th St. NW (Judiciary Square metro stop) and open to neighbors who would like to share their thoughts.

DC's First Elected Attorney General Speaks at Capitol View Library

DC Attorney General Karl Racine spoke on the "The State of U.S. Race Relations...?" on Wednesday, January 14th as part of the MLK week of programs at DC Libraries. A lively discussion followed with as many six commissioners from the area, residents from other areas and members of Mr. Racine's and library staff in attendance.

January 7E Advisory Neighborhood Commission Meeting Canceled

The majority of 7E Commissioners were not available to meet prior to January 13th, the second Tuesday of the month (the scheduled date of the ANC public meeting), to elect officers which is required before the transaction of commission responsibilities including the community meeting.

Capitol Gateway Update

The proposed Walmart for East Capitol is scheduled to break ground on April 1st 2015, according to the Washington Business Journal.

Marshall Heights: One of DC's Top Transitional Neighborhoods

WAMU radio recently ran a story on the Marshal Heights neighborhood as part of its Metro Connections series.

"The hilly Ward 7 neighborhood is bordered by East Capitol Street on the north, Southern Avenue on the east, and Benning Road on the west."
